Hello! I am the Indigenous Community Recruiter for the Circles for Reconciliation grass root project regarding the Truth and Reconciliation recommendations.

Circles For Reconciliation is a non-profit, grassroots community project that seeks to promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Canada. The goal is to create new relationships that are based on “mutual recognition, mutual respect, sharing and mutual responsibility” (TRC).

There are new circles starting this month and they require the participation of our indigenous people!

Please find the following circles’ start dates where seats are open for sharing our people’s knowledge and experiences:

* Fort Whyte Alive Centre, 1961 McCreary Rd, Mondays, January 8, 2018, 3:00 – 4: 15 pm {4 seats avail.(no cost to get into the site, need transportation)}
* St. Andrew’s River Heights Church, 255 Oak Street, Wednesdays, 6:00 – 7:15 pm, January, 2018 Date TBA (4 seats avail.)
* The Sentient Book Store, 284 Tache Avenue, Wednesdays, January 24, 2018, 10:00 am – 11: 15 am (5 seats avail.)
* Trinity Church, 933 Summerside Ave., Mondays, January 22, 2018, 7:00-8:15 pm (5 seats avail.)

All are at no cost!

Our means is to create 100 discussion groups, each composed of ten people (five Indigenous and five non-Indigenous) with each of the 100 groups meeting ten times to learn and discuss a large number of issues around reconciliation. The circles meet for 75 minutes and are at no cost to the participants.

We are seeking indigenous individuals to participate in the circles.

You can find more information and register for the these circles on our website at www.circlesforreconciliation.ca or call Raymond at (204) 487-0512 or email currierf@mymts.net at your convenience. Please share with your family/friends/colleagues and network contacts. Everyone is welcome!

“The process of reconciliation will require the passionate commitment of individuals and the genuine engagement of society.” – TRC Interim Report page 26
